During the NBA off-season this year, Amar'e Stoudemire had surgery to fix a detached retina, an injury he sustained in February. Physical stress could have reinjured it, so he had to lie facedown in bed -- 22 hours a day, 10 days straight -- and then avoid exercise for 6 months.
