WHETHER YOU’RE PACKING for a trip or just gearing up for a long commute, keeping a travel blazer in your rotation save you time—and a lot of outfit stress. When you’re bouncing from one to the next with no time to reset, this is the one piece in your wardrobe that won’t fall apart. Unlike traditional blazers, these travel styles resist wrinkles, breathe easy, and have enough stretch that you still feel comfortable during those cramped flights and shoulder-to-shoulder train rides. On top of that, they’re easy to pack in your luggage and pair with a bunch of ensembles.

Since 2022, we’ve tested over 25 travel blazers seeing how they hold up in overhead bins, on sweaty commutes, and straight out of a bag. The best ones are tailored not restrictive, lightweight but not flimsy, and polished without feeling overdone. These days, no one’s traveling in a three-piece suit anymore. Here’s the best travel blazers to get you through it all.

Best Men's Travel Blazers

What to Consider

Fabric and Durability

When shopping for men’s travel blazers, look for fabrics that are comfy and practical. Men’s travel blazers are built to look like traditional blazers, while providing the feel and function of athletic outerwear. Go for stretchy materials like spandex or elastane, so you can move without any hassle or restriction. Wrinkle-resistant materials like polyester or blends are great because they remain looking sharp after you unravel them from your suitcase. Breathable materials like cotton and lightweight wool keep you cool and comfortable.

Fit

Make sure your blazer fits well and is comfortable enough to wear all day. Travel blazers for men should allow freedom of movement and not feel too tight or restrictive. The shoulders of the garment need to align with your own and not sag or pinch, as this affects the overall look. Always double check the sleeves; see that they’re not too long and the armholes are high enough to avoid bunching while allowing mobility. When it comes to travel blazers, you'll typically find these three main types of fits.

Slim Fit

A more tailored cut that's snug around the chest and waist, giving you a sharp sleek silhouette. Great for guys who want a more fitted look without sacrificing comfort.

Athletic Fit

A fit that's perfect for guys with broader shoulders and a smaller waist. It offers more room in the chest and shoulders, while still tapering at the waist for a streamlined look.

Standard Fit

The classic, relaxed fit. It offers more room throughout the body and is great for a laid-back, comfortable look. Ideal for guys who prioritize freedom of movement and a less structured feel.

Packability

A packable travel blazer can easily be folded or rolled up if it's taking too much space in your luggage, leaving for other essentials. Having one that packs well means you can just throw it in the bag and go, making your travel preparations simpler and more efficient.

Functionality

Check for practical features like multiple pockets for easy access to essentials, and moisture-wicking properties if you intend to be active.

How We Selected

To find the best travel blazers for men, our style team led by Style Director Christian Gollayan, tested dozens over the past few years. We wore them during business conferences, day trips, and leisure vacations. When testing each one, we checked to see whether it allows easy movement, feels light, and fits nicely throughout the body. We’ve also analyzed the packing process and styled the blazer with different outfits to make sure it works for both casual and formal settings. We then narrowed down to the eight best travel blazers for men that give you a stylish and refined look that attracts only the best kind of attention.

Relwen Flyweight Flex Blazer
Relwen Flyweight Flex Blazer
Relwen Flyweight Flex Blazer
Relwen Flyweight Flex Blazer

Pros

  • Super comfortable and durable
  • Works in a range of temperatures/seasons
  • Plenty of storage for personal belongings
  • Easy to style with casual fits
  • Garment-washed for a lived-in

Cons

  • Can get wrinkled a bit IF not properly packed (fold or use garment bag)

In the past year, our style team has tested dozens of travel blazers for functionality, but Relwen has it in spades. Right off the bat, we noticed that its cotton-spandex fabric feels super lightweight and comes with enough stretch to let you move beyond limitations. It leans more sports jacket with a four-button design and throat latch that allows you to button all the way up to your neck. There’s also functional buttons on the sleeves, which looks sharp rolled up. I’ve worn it in low 50s as well as high 70s, and found it to be comfortable in both temps.

Normally, I have to pay to dry clean most of my blazers, but this one can be tossed around my washing machine without falling apart. As for storage, the three exterior patch pockets are similar to any casual blazer, but the large interior pocket has a zip closure with a vertical opening for easy access. It is ideal for stashing valuables.

On top of being a solid choice for away seminars or long flights, this option is great for everyday wear. It looks great for cool evening strolls, dinner dates, and outdoor weddings. Sure, this blazer gets wrinkled easily, but it’s designed to give off a laid-back vibe, as if it’s been worn and broken in over time.

Rhone Commuter® Blazer - Slim Fit

Pros

  • Tailored fit looks super sharp with trousers or dark jeans
  • Four-way stretch
  • Fabric wicks away moisture and blocks odor
  • Comes in both a slim and classic fit

Cons

  • Dry clean only

In Rhone’s vast assortment, the brand carries a travel blazer with a killer slim cut. It has a sporty vibe, but looks clean enough for meetings that aren’t too formal. The Flex-Knit fabric is breathable and moisture-wicking, which means you stay cool and the garment doesn’t become damp or develop unpleasant odors from sweat. The polyester material has plenty of stretch, so I never felt any restriction in the arm area when I grabbed my coffee or reached up to the high cabinet.

I’ve paired it with everything from a basic tee to an oxford shirt, and it looks great with just about anything in your wardrobe—a true testament to its versatility. Plus, the material is ultra-light, making it a comfortable pick to throw on. Unlike Relwen’s travel blazer, this one can’t go in the washer—you have to take a trip to the dry cleaners.

Ultimate Voyager Travel Blazer

Pros

  • Reinforced seams make blazer extra durable
  • Water-repellent finish keeps you dry
  • Interior pocket holds passport and other essential docs
  • Stretch and vented back offer range of mobility

Eddie Bauer’s travel blazer is practically indestructible. The fabric is hardcore and can take a beating, thanks to the reinforced seams and durable water-repellent finish. The latter especially makes sure you’re covered if you spill a drink or get caught in a downpour. And when you’re commuting, you can secure your passport or phone inside zippered compartments.

During our testing, we found that the two-way stretch made a journey breeze, giving us the freedom to move through busy airports and crowded streets. Plus, the universal fit hits the sweet spot, so it’s comfortable for all body types without being too tight or too loose.

Uniqlo AirSense Blazer

AirSense Blazer

Pros

  • AirSense proprietary fabric dries in minutes
  • Allows easy layering of tees and knits
  • Pairs with a bunch of different pants: chinos, trousers, jeans
  • Affordable compared to other options on the list
  • Machine washable

Cons

  • Must place in a mesh bag for safe washing

Although Uniqlo’s design looks like a wool blazer replica, it’s one of the most breathable styles I’ve ever worn. It’s made with the brand’s proprietary AirSense fabric, a lightweight polyester material that dries in minutes and keeps me cool. Typically, when I wear a traditional blazer in the summertime and in the muggy subway, I sweat like a dog. But when I wore this one in 80-degree weather to a work brunch, I was comfortable and dry the whole time. It’s relaxed enough to wear with chinos or jeans, but still has a dressy vibe that can pull off a full suit look with trousers.

I found it’s not too fitted in the waist, which lets me layer shirts or knits easier in the cooler temps. There’s no bunching to where I feel stuffed. You can snag it in the typical neutral colors like grey and navy, perfect for the office followed by dinner plans. Like Relwen’s offering, this one is machine washable, but I recommend turning it inside out in a mesh bag. On the other hand, it’s way more structured with a natural shaping in the shoulders and sleeves. And yeah, it’s the most affordable option on this list, clocking in under $100, but it doesn’t look or feel like a budget buy. You’re getting the same premium quality that you’d get with a blazer that cost a few hundred bucks.

Inlet Knit Blazer

Pros

  • Wears like your favorite cardigan
  • Very wrinkle-resistant
  • Super cozy and soft
  • Best for ahtletic and lean builds

Cons

  • Not ideal if you want something more structured

In an effort to max out comfort, Faherty offers a travel blazer made out of a stretch jersey knit fabric. It has a soft hand feel, tailored fit, and wears like your coziest cardigan. The front pockets are deep enough to carry your earbuds or wallet, so either won’t fall out as you’re maneuvering through the airport. Whether you’re packing it all in a backpack or suitcase, it’s a breeze to toss in and hit the road. Plus, we found no signs of wrinkles after unloading our clothes in the hotel.

Unlike stiff travel blazers that we’ve tested, this one bends and moves with you, so it doesn’t feel like you’re stuck in a straightjacket. The slimmer cut is perfect for guys who have an athletic or lean build, as it accentuates a trim silhouette and creates a sharp appearance. It’s a perfect match with a pair of summer pants, but looks just as cool with jeans and a tee.

Capitola Linen Carry-On Jacket

Pros

  • Combines breathability of linen with the structure of cotton
  • Looks great with a ton of fits
  • Feels comfortable in hot temps

Cons

  • Not the sleekest option for highly formal business settings

If I’m traveling somewhere warm and still want to look put-together, Buck Mason’s carry-on blazer is the one I keep coming back to. Its cotton-linen blend combines the breathability of pure linen along with the durability and structure of cotton. You get that relaxed, cool texture that makes linen so comfortable in the summer, but without the excessive wrinkling that can make traditional linen jackets look disheveled halfway through a trip.

What I liked most was how well it handled repeated packing and unpacking. While it picked up some natural creasing—as any linen-rich garment will—it never looked sloppy. The cotton component helped the jacket retain its shape, while the linen kept it noticeably cooler than traditional wool tailoring during warm afternoons. At 5’8”, I also appreciated that the silhouette felt tailored without being overly structured or stiff. The jacket’s biggest strength is versatility. It pairs just as naturally with chinos and loafers for a dinner reservation as it does with shorts and minimal sneakers for a day of sightseeing.

Unlike performance travel blazers that can sometimes look overly technical, the Capitola leans into classic menswear styling with a fabric that develops character the more you wear it. It’s not the blazer I’d choose for highly formal business settings, but for warm-weather travel, it’s one of the most wearable options I’ve tested.

Washable Slim-fit Jacket in Stretch Cloth

Pros

  • Stretch-infused
  • Can transition from travel wear to evening attire
  • Machine washable

Cons

  • Less forgiving than a relaxed fit

When you want to look like you mean business at client dinners or conferences, you should reach for this blazer from Hugo Boss. Most travel blazers prioritize comfort at the expense of polish, but this one manages to deliver both. Our Style Director Christian Gollayan loves how sharp this slim-fit silhouette looks on him. He says it's tailored without feeling restrictive, while the stretch-infused, polyester-wool fabric gives you enough mobility for long flights and days spent hauling luggage through airports. The biggest differentiator, though, is right in the name: it’s washable. I can wear it repeatedly on a multi-day trip, freshen it up without a costly dry-cleaning bill, and pack it with far less anxiety than a traditional wool sport coat.

I wore the jacket on a full travel day that included a flight, a lengthy commute, and several hours seated at meetings. It kept its shape surprisingly well, resisting the creases and rumpling that typically throw off more formal tailoring after being folded inside a carry-on. What impressed me most was how effortlessly it transitioned from travel wear to evening attire. I could step off a plane and head directly to a dinner reservation without feeling underdressed. Though the jacket isn’t as soft or unstructured as more casual travel blazers from performance-focused brands. Also, the slimmer cut may feel less forgiving if you prefer a relaxed fit. But if your priority is maintaining a clean, business-ready vibe while still getting travel-friendly performance, I haven’t found many options that strike the balance as well as this one.

Dark Grey Perennial Tailored Fit Havana Suit Jacket

Pros

  • Half-canvas construction helps it mold to your body over time
  • Timeless design
  • Luxurious quality
  • Ideal for leaner builds

Cons

  • May not be the best option in blazing hot temps

If you’re looking for a travel blazer that leans more dressy with European tailoring and luxurious quality for a great price point, Suitsupply is your best bet. Instead of a boxy, rigid silhouette that’s on trend right now, this timeless design has a natural shoulder, single-breasted closure, and a half-canvas construction that helps the jacket mold to your body over time while maintaining a solid drape.

It’s made with medium weight pure wool, but I wasn’t burning up wearing it with a tank top at a rooftop party. But when the temperature really spikes beyond 80 degrees, I would recommend reaching for something lighter like linen. The chest and waist is trimmed for a slim fit, but it’s not too tight in the arms. I wore a 36R and didn’t need any alteration. It looks sharp straight off the rack. Sure, it’s on the pricier end compared to other picks on the list, but you’ll have this blazer for seasons to come. You can wear it to the office, formal business events, or weddings.

Linen Cotton Jacket

Pros

  • Relaxed through the chest and waist
  • Lighter construction that holds shape over time
  • Barely creases

Cons

  • Dry clean only

Linen blazers, like this one by Charles Tyrwhitt, reign supreme for travel because I stayed cool, dry, and comfortable. Even though this design’s fabric blends cotton and linen, you’re still getting a hefty dose of linen (53%), so it wears light as a feather. As I’m commuting, airflow is constant, and it never feels stuffy like wool, even when the temps spike. Linen is notorious for wrinkling but this one’s got enough structure that creases barely register—and the taupe color blends in, helping to mask any wrinkles that do show up.

The cut is relaxed through the chest and waist, with a clean, structured drape that follows the body without pulling. The shoulders are lightly structured, giving you shape up top without feeling stiff. It’s a sharper silhouette overall, but still works for guys with broader shoulders or a bigger chest. But if you’re on the leaner side, it captures that close-to-the-body, tailored look.

Jetsetter Italian Cotton Blazer

Pros

  • Lightweight and breathable
  • Comes in three fits: standard, slim, and athletic
  • Available with matching pants

Cons

  • Dry clean only

If you want a blazer that feels like a step up from your usual travel uniform, I would highly consider this number from Bonobos. Unlike stiff, restrictive blazers that make you feel like you’re trapped in a straightjacket, this cotton-spandex blend flexes with you, whether you’re reaching for your luggage in the overhead bin or hailing a cab. I have to admit, it does wrinkle quite a bit when I’m sitting down for a long amount of time. In true Bonobos fashion, this blazer comes in three fits—slim, athletic, and standard—so every guy can find his perfect match. And it’s far more relaxed than a traditional sport coat. Just a note: you can only take it to the dry cleaners. In terms of styling, it’s super versatile: you can wear it with a dress shirt and chinos for a garden party or a casual t-shirt and jeans for a laid-back look on your next trip.

How Do You Wear a Travel Blazer?

Think of your travel blazer more like a lightweight jacket. Any blazer in a dark, neutral color or simple pattern can go on top of pretty much any outfit. Whether you wear a button down shirt or a hoodie, throwing a blazer over it instantly levels up your look. Alas, we tend to not use the pockets of suits or formal blazers very often, but you should utilize all the pocket space of travel blazers.
