  • REI’s summer sale is here, and non-members can save up to 50% on past-season styles.
  • The sale features a ton of Men’s Health-approved gear from Vuori, Hoka, Brooks, and more.
  • Some rarely-discounted brands we cover are also making debuts, including Nike, Rhone, and Chubbies.

REI’S SUMMER SALE is officially live, and we’re not going to mince words—it might be its best one of the year. The outdoor retailer’s Anniversary sale usually gets all of the glory, but as the resident deals guy here at Men’s Health, I think this one has it beat by a mile. You’ll see why in a sec.

Right now, the brand is offering up to 50 percent off editor-tested shoes and gear from Hoka, Vuori, Brooks, and On. But a few more of our favorite brands are making a cameo appearance during this sale: Nike, Rhone, and Chubbies are all on sale in a big way. Not surpringly, things are starting to sell out fast.

Don’t want to overhype some of these deals, but they’re genuinely great, and a little more fitness-focused, which is a little more in my wheelhouse. I covered the Hoka Clifton 10s when they were 20 percent off following the debut of the Clifton 11s—they’re now almost 40 percent off on REI. Another one of our best-tested running shoes, the Nike Pegasus 41, is also on rare sale and over 25 percent off. This is just the tip of the iceberg, though. Check out some of our favorite deals below, and feel free to shop the entire sale at your leisure. You won’t regret it.

Why These Are Our Picks

I’ll quickly go through some of my other personal favorites. Our top-rated workout shirt and gym shorts from Vuori are both 20 percent off. The Strato Tech Tee is stretchy, quick-drying, and cozy enough to rock as loungewear, and it’s now under $50. Its Kore Shorts are the only lined shorts I’ll wear; you don’t even notice it’s there, but the extra support is welcome, especially on leg day. They’re now just over $60, which is great considering they’re usually $80 (and worth every penny).

Rhone has some pretty insane markdowns, too. It’s one of the more underrated athleisure brands we cover, and it doesn’t go on sale all that often. Right now, you can save over 30 percent on our favorite textured workout shirt, the Reign Tee, in select colorways, and 50 percent off the Rise Quarter-Zip Top ahead of the fall/winter season. Nike’s ACG "Second Sunrise" Dri-FIT ADV 5" Brief-Lined Shorts are also now 50 percent off, highlighting another of the brand’s rare (but very much welcome) sales at REI.

We still have plenty of time to get in arguably the best full-body workout out there—swimming. The weather has been pretty up and down this summer on the East Coast, but things have been looking up lately. Chubbies makes some super comfortable swim trunks, and its most popular pair, the Stretch 5.5" Swim Trunks, is currently 50 percent off and under $35. For a more versatile, hybrid loungewear vibe, you can go with the Everywear Shorts, which are also half off and can be worn in the water and out.

There’s plenty more deals to go around. Some of our favorites include 35 percent off the editor-tested-and-approved Brooks Dash shorts, over 26 percent off another one of our favorite walking shoes, the Brooks Ghost 17, 40 percent off a pair of our best-tested trail running shoes, the Arc’teryx Norvan LD 4, and half-off the soon-to-be seasonally relevant On Focus Tech Hoodie. We’ve trained, worn, and extensively tested a lot of the stuff on this list, and we’ve never seen prices. In classic Men’s Health fashion, we’d suggest running, not walking, for these kinds of deals.
