Bezos has graced us with seven days of 'epic savings' to mark this year's Amazon Spring Deal Days sale. Having covered the event for the past four years for Men's Health, I'd recommend taking these sentiments with a healthy dose of scepticism. But, if you know what to look for – and, crucially, how to look – the good news is that there are, to be fair to Jeff, some genuine gems to be found on some of our favourite fitness gear and tech.

How to Find and Verify Amazon Spring Sale Deals
Price Trackers: Whenever I shop at Amazon, I use a price tracker, like CamelCamelCamel. It's a browser plug-in that tells you the price history of a product for as long as it's been listed on the site. It’s not always perfect, but it's free and it gives you a good idea of the authenticity of the deal.
Retailers: It's a smart idea to compare prices across other retailers. It only takes a quick Google search, but it can tell you a lot about how genuine a price drop actually is. If a product catches your eye and it’s 50% off on Amazon, but it’s available for the same price at other retailers, it’s probably not as good a deal as it appears.
