In Stranger Things, Hawkins National Laboratory is the secretive site where Eleven grew up as the subject of an experiment, and inadvertently opened a portal between the Upside Down and Hawkins, Indiana.

Emory University in Atlanta served as the site for Hawkins National Laboratory in Stranger Things.

The school Will, Dustin, Mike, and Lucas attend in Stranger Things is appropriately called Hawkins Middle School (since, you know, they live in Hawkins, Indiana).

Both interior and exterior shots of Hawkins Middle School were shot at what used to be Patrick Henry High School, in Stockbridge, Georgia. The school closed and relocated in 2015, but fans can still visit the building.

Joyce Byers works (and kisses Bob in the back room) at Melvald's General Store in season 2 and 3 of Stranger Things.

Though fans can visit the store's exterior at 4 2nd Street in Jackson, Georgia, the old drug store sadly closed down in 2017.

In the first season of Stranger Things, Benny's Burgers is where Eleven goes after escaping from Hawkins National Laboratory. The owner, Benny, gives her some food before meeting an unfortunate end.

The Stranger Things scenes at Benny's Burgers were filmed at a restaurant called Tiffany's Kitchen in Lithia Springs, Georgia.

Much of Stranger Things season 2 took place at the Starcourt Mall, where Steve and Robin work at the Scoops Ahoy in the mall's food court. The show even released a mock advertisement for the Starcourt Mall ahead of the show's second season.

The Starcourt Mall scenes were filmed in Duluth, Georgia at the Gwinnett Place Mall. Portions of the building were remodeled to look more like a mall from the '80s.

The HBO miniseries Chernobyl tells the story of the Chernobyl disaster that took place in Soviet Ukraine in April 1986. In the first episode, there's a scene of the nuclear power plant engulfed in flames.

Various scenes from Chernobyl were filmed in Visaginas, Lithuania, which is where Ignalina (Chernobyl's sister power plant) is located. In 2009, Ignalina was shut down due to concern that a Chernobyl-like disaster could take place at the plant.

The running scene, as well as a few other scenes from Big Little Lies, were shot on or near Del Monte Beach in Monterey, California.
