  • Workwear brand CAT teamed up with Ryan Gosling's stylist for a 14-piece collection.
  • Gosling was spotted rocking the collection during the press tour for Project Hail Mary.
  • The pieces worn by the actor are all available for under $200.

RYAN GOSLING IS on a generational run right now—big movie projects, bigger press tours, and a style streak to match. While he’s been crushing his suited promotional fits, we’re more interested in his rugged looks—like this CAT collab.

The 45-year-old actor was recently spotted decked out in the workwear label on his press tour for Project Hail Mary. Gosling has been a fan of CAT for years. He was first seen wearing the Five-Panel Diesel Hat during an impromptu movie theater drop-in. The menswear brand, ever-vigilant, took notice and linked up with Gosling's longtime stylist Mark Avery to deliver a 14-piece collection with most items clocking in at under $200. The results are pretty spectacular. Gosling sported the same diesel hat during the now-famous Hail Mary press event, where he threw a football through a Randy Donuts sign. At the movie’s Mexico City press event in March, Gosling wore CAT’s white Trucker Jacket set, a monochrome, slightly rugged fit that looks as great on the red carpet as it does on weekend treks. Another cool Easter egg: He also wore the same jacket, this time in black, for a string of Saturday Night Live promotions.

And while these pieces have gone viral in their own right, CAT’s spring collection is full of great stuff. I love the burly, perfectly fitting flannel (for the reasons mentioned above), and the bomber jacket is a must-have for corduroy fans everywhere.

I cover a lot of the latest fashion trends, but I don't always necessarily look the part. I'm a pretty burly guy myself; beard and mullet included. My favorite brands usually feature an ideal blend of rugged practicality and sleek style—think L.L Bean, Filson, and Wrangler. The new CAT x Avery Ranch collection captures a similar balance. And while yes, I'm probably the furthest thing from Ryan Gosling on the planet, his stamp of approval was duly noted. We included some of our favorites from the collection below, but there's plenty to love all around
