For decades, the New York City clothing brand has turned flag sweaters, polos, chinos, and sailing jackets into menswear staples. Now, it's returning to its nautical roots with a new collection alongside the U.S. SailGP Team, serving up color-blocked rugbies, striped knits, technical polos, and performance outerwear that look just as good dockside as they do downtown.
This marks Tommy's second year outfitting the U.S. SailGP Team. If you're unfamiliar with the sport, think Formula 1 meets the America's Cup: national teams piloting hydrofoiling catamarans that can hit highway speeds while battling for points on a global circuit.

After testing the collection ourselves, it goes well beyond race day. The striped sweater is soft, luxe, and the perfect layer to throw over your shoulders once the sun starts to set. The cargo tech pants impressed us even more. Lightweight, water-resistant, and cut with a beautiful drape, they kept us cool and comfortable during long days in the heat, while their suite of pockets eliminated a need for a sling bag altogether. And when the wind picked up during a boat ride, the convertible jacket earned its keep.
And because this is Tommy Hilfiger, the pieces look far pricier than they actually are. The collection's red, white, and blue palette also makes it an easy choice for Fourth of July weekend. The line may have been inspired by one of the fastest sports on the water, but its biggest strength is how easy the pieces are to wear once you're back on land.
